Artist Statement
My work is driven by intuitive mark making and a material-led process in which layered surfaces and restrained color guide meaning. While some series include recognizable imagery, the work is not dependent on reference material; ideas emerge through process rather than illustration. Greys, deep blues, and near-blacks often serve as unifying fields, allowing moments of unexpected color to surface quietly. A piece is complete when the materials feel resolved without being overworked.
